You are never as bad as you think you are.
Not know something.?
Make mistakes?
Not your ideal?
Unmet needs?
A foundation built on shame is a faulty foundation. It will begin to crumble when exposed to the light of truth.
No one is more special than you.
And you are no more special than anyone else. You share one thing in common with everyone around you- your inherent value is the same and Given to you by your Creator.
True success is living by your values
Values are the character qualities you would like to build your life by. They are not to be confused with goals or rules. (From the Confidence Gap)
Develop a zero tolerance policy for any thoughts, feelings, or messages that devalue you.
Practice paying attention to what goes on on your mind. Like a movie screen or leaves in a stream, listen to the chatter with enough space as to not automatically agree or fuse with every passing thought that enters your mind. Take captive these thoughts and make them obey. Tread not a passive journey, but be the commander of your vessel, especially in rough seas.
Sometimes the distance we judge ourselves and others from is too far from grace.
Stay close to the well that embraces you as you are. His name is Jesus.
Value your values over your goals and you will achieve success in droves.
Paraphrased from the Confidence Gap
The Great Depression said goodbye to its most valuable ally and asset- the Critic.
Buh-bye. Your services are no longer needed here.
The problem with the critic is the critic.
The antitode to the critic is grace and acceptance. Saying yes to what is. Embracing the imperfect gladly because it is real, here, and now before you.
The most beautiful thing in life is the grace to accept that which isn’t beautiful.
A buffered life leaves valuable space for your soul
This space of grace to be present with yourself and others free of judgement and excessive thinking.
It’s like a required minimum distance of clearance between you and all judgements / labels.
