The Five Stages of Grief- D.A.B.D.A.
Denial: “I feel fine, there isn’t any problem here.” Anger: “Why me? It’s not fair!” Bargaining: “I’ll do anything for a few more years if…” Depression: “I’m so sad, why bother with anything?” Acceptance: “It’s going to be okay.”
You are not your feelings. Just because you can feel it doesn’t make it true or false.
Many over identify with an identity of worthlessness, shame, and rejection because it is an experience they’ve lived and emotion they’ve felt throughout their life.
Empathy and compassion is the greatest currency of all. If we haven’t humbled ourselves to receive it, our pockets will be empty when others are in need.
We comfort others with the comfort we have received.
